About Me:

The Art of Therapy
It is natural to feel overwhelmed by life's challenges and disappointments. It is normal to label emotions such as depression, sadness, anger, or frustration as “bad” or believing something might be wrong with you. At the same time, there's also a knowing somewhere deep inside telling you that within these emotions lies a powerful motivation to move towards healing and towards something better. Together, we will explore those dynamics keeping you stuck as well as those that are working.

Although, it is common to self-judge or blame, I believe we can work towards acceptance and forgiveness. Inside a journey of self-discovery blossoms the compassion for yourself and others.

I believe therapy can be an effective means of discovering and reconnecting with your personal and unique strengths. It takes courage to share your problems and pain with another. The art of therapy provides a safe environment to take gradual and courageous steps forward towards personal fulfillment. I offer a nurturing and non-judgmental approach to helping you take those steps safely and confidently, assisting you on the path towards creating the life you desire. Just as the lotus emerges from beneath the shadowy water, and blossoms, you also can experience within you the surfacing of hope and healing.

The Art of Creativity
With 25 years in the field of arts and experiencing different avenues of self-expression such as writing, painting and dance, to name a few, I understand the unique challenges that accompany being creative.

As a therapist, I have had the pleasure of working with creative individuals such as writers, musicians, actors and artists. In my approach, coupled with traditional “talk therapy,” I incorporate various techniques such as art therapy, poetry therapy, journaling and guided imagery.

I assist individuals in gaining a self-awareness and deeper understanding of themselves as artists. Such issues as creative block, procrastination, self-destructive behaviors, depression, anxiety, fear, self-criticism and discouragement can hinder one's creative success as well as one's personal relationships.

I believe high sensitivity, essential in the creative process, can co-exist with dealing effectively with inner conflicts. This can be achieved without suppressing the vitality that leads to authentic self-expression. I can assist the artist in discovering that they can be both productive and creative within a healthy, fulfilling life.
